Blog Content Writing
This is not difficult at all. All you need to do is use write about what you know. Do you know what you’re doing? I hope you do! Here are a few ways to come up with some content to write for your blog.
Other Peoples’ Blogs
Looking at other peoples work shouldn’t be used to plagiarize them… It’s used as inspiration. You use it to give your brain a little more juice, and motivate you. Got it? Absolutely no plagiarism. Quality, original content only. It’s always best to come up with your own ideas, however if you’re doing a reply to somebody’s post then that could be a great post!
Be A Show-Off
This isn’t as bad as it seems – I’m talking about showing people things you know. If you’re particular knowledgeable about a certain topic then write about it. I can write about seduction because I know a thing or two about meeting women! (Click here to see what I’m talking about…). I can talk about blogging because I’ve been blogging for about a year, and because I’ve been a writer for 4 years. I’m still learning, but I know a thing or two.
Be a show-off, and give some good content on your blog.
KISS
Keep It Simple Stupid. Have short, punchy sentences that are interesting. They don’t necessarily need to be complicated. You want to have people be able to understand you, and to get what you’re saying. Use metaphors and examples, and try keeping it simple. Such as the title… K.I.S.S.
Become Their GPS
You lead them towards the conclusion. You help make them see the connection between ideas. You present facts and your thoughts, and guide them towards their own insights. You’re basically their guiding system. Their sensei. Don’t leave them guessing – at least just bring up ideas, or tell them how they can find it or where.
There are a lot of different tips I could give you, but I want to spend some time on the phone with my girlfriend, and watch Forrest Gump.
Here are a few more miscellaneous tips:
- Be personal, not too personal – but personal nontheless
- Vary your words – don’t always be starting sentences the exact same way
- Make it skimmable (bullet points, bolded words, etc.)
- Be excellent at what you do – not perfect
- There’s no need to warm-up your readers… It’s safe to assume they want to read – just start with personality and content
- Good blog content writing will be very obvious to your readers, and they will love you for it
- Be generous… Content doesn’t cost anything. Give it away. Share it, and let people praise you.
- you don’t need to link-bait (super high quality posts) everything. Maybe 1 in 5-20. Like one in a while is okay
- Capitalize on high traffic days – write another quality post, and capture repeat readers
- Do different kinds of posts – How-to’s, Videos, Opinions, Reviews, Lists, Links,
Lol, gonna go sing and watch Forrest Gump and talk to Leilanie now!
